1. Meet with your Funeral Director

When you’re ready, you will meet with a Funeral Director at a time and place that’s right for you to start arranging the funeral service.

2. Planning a personalised funeral

Every person is unique, and every funeral should be, too. We’ll help you plan a personalised funeral service that reflects your loved one’s life, interests and religious or cultural traditions.

3. Running the service and reception

We will be there on the day to make sure everything runs smoothly. We can also plan and host receptions to gather with family and friends after the service.

4. Ongoing support

In the weeks and months after the funeral, we’re here to help with paperwork, setting up a video tribute, and connecting you to grief support services.

Choosing between burial and cremation

Choosing between burial and cremation is a personal decision, often shaped by your beliefs, culture, family traditions and preferences. If you’re considering the options for yourself or a loved one, here are some things that may help you decide.

Cost

Burial is generally more expensive than cremation, as there may be additional cemetery costs such as purchasing a gravesite, the right of interment, and opening and closing fees. These costs are set by the cemetery, and your Funeral Director can help you understand what’s involved.

Cultural significance

Burial holds cultural or religious significance for many people and can be an important way to honour family traditions, rituals and beliefs. Cremation is also a common choice and may offer families more flexibility in how and where they remember their loved one.

Connection

For some people, having a physical place to visit can provide a sense of comfort and connection. A burial provides a dedicated place for reflection and remembrance. With cremation, ashes can be interred at a cemetery or memorial, scattered in a meaningful place, or kept close by at home.

Ways to say goodbye to your loved one

We offer a range of funeral services to help you plan a farewell that feels right.

What does a funeral include, and what will it cost?

The cost of a funeral depends on the type of service and personalisation. Your Funeral Director will talk through your options, so you understand what’s included and what it will cost.

Always under our care

From the moment your loved one comes into our care, they will be looked after by our team, in our funeral homes, and transported in our vehicles.

Included every time

Every White Lady funeral includes the essential services, including all administrative and legal requirements, transportation, and mortuary care.

Choose what feels right

From the flowers to the venue, choose the details that feel right for your loved one. We’ll talk you through options and costs, so you can decide what to include.

Take the time you need

Your loved one can stay in our care while your family makes arrangements, or while family and friends travel to be there. There’s no additional cost for this time.

State and public funerals

Throughout our history, White Lady has been honoured to assist with State and official funerals for Australians whose lives have made a lasting contribution to our communities and country. State funerals are reserved for individuals whose achievements and service have been recognised at the highest level, representing one of the nation's most significant forms of public tribute.

The trust placed in White Lady to support these occasions reflects the high standards of care, professionalism and attention to detail that have been part of our heritage for generations. Today, we bring that same commitment to every family we serve, creating personal and meaningful farewells that honour each life with dignity, warmth and respect
