Funeral arrangements for my Wife Antonina by White Lady Funerals, Heidelberg on May 5th were made with dignity; respect and grace. Their attention to detail is incredible. At a time of sadness when making arrangements they discussed the funeral options in a comforting and detailed meeting. After the funeral exceptional remarks were made by relatives and friends with respect to the manner in which the ladies carried out the duties, both at the church and the grave site. My Family offer our deepest thanks to the staff at Heidelberg.

Meet Rachel Barry, White Lady Funerals Heidelberg location manager

What do you like about being a funeral arranger?
Taking away a family’s stress by making the funeral arrangements and arranging a farewell for their loved one that will be remembered lovingly, is what I love most about being a Funeral Director.  It is such a privilege to be a part of the journey.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love camping, fishing and bushwalking so I try to get amongst the great outdoors as much as possible. We live in such an amazing country so my aim is to see as much of it as I can.

What’s the most remarkable funeral you’ve ever arranged?
In 2021, I arranged a funeral for a lady that involved 3 events. The funeral, the wake and a gala event the following night.  At her funeral we had a celloist, 8 white horses and a church full of bright red and pink flowers.

The wake was at a well-known Melbourne reception centre where we had a string quartet, an oyster bar, an ice sculpture, mannequins with her favourite dresses, a champagne tower and many other additions not normally seen at a funeral.

Then finally the Gala; the event was something to be seen. The lady’s jewellery was on display in a glass cabinet (complete with security guards), a 10 piece band, 3 course meal, formal photographer, the most magnificent flowers, and the list goes on.  This is something I will never forget and it was an absolute honour to be a part of.
