Meet Phoebe
What do you enjoy about your job?
I like the connection Funeral Directors make with families. We help them and listen to them. We walk beside them during difficult times but also celebrate and honour honour their loved one.
Each funeral is different, each day I hear new stories and experience new things and meet such a diverse range of people.
How long have you worked in the funeral industry?
I have been in the industry for almost 7 years total. Between moving from Rockhampton to starting with White Lady, I spent 8 years in pathology as a laboratory assistant.
I began with White Lady in 2022 as a Funeral Director’s Assistant, moved to Chelmer as an Arranger Conductor in October 2023, and started as Location Manager at Burpengary in July 2025.
What do you enjoy in your spare time?
A good night for me is some crackers and dip and playing card games and board games with friends. I also love going to markets, antique stores, and thrift shops. I get a joy from finding home-made or second-hand items.
I am a big reader and love reading a memorising poetry. I find beauty in the way people express themselves and see the world through poetry.
What’s the most remarkable funeral you’ve ever arranged?
When I was in Rockhampton, I helped to arrange a funeral for a tennis coach on a tennis court. We had a guard of honour for the hearse departure where everyone held up their racquets.
Honoured to
stand beside you as you say farewell
Thank you for everything Suzie. Your professionalism together with support, care and understanding does not really allow for 5 stars to be enough. At a time when our family's hearts have been shattered and broken you were able to walk us through the process of saying goodbye to our beautiful Mum in the most gentle and loving way.
You certainly have a gift and White Lady Funerals have an asset in you. To Carolyn and Tash, your patience and professionalism shone also and everyone makes a caring and supportive team.
We would like to thank Suzie from White Lady Funerals at Burpengary. The compassion and love she showed to our family was second to none.
Suzie ensured our dad got the funeral he deserved and made the heartbreaking decisions easier. She just knows everything. Recommending Danielle for our celebrant and Carolyn to look after our photographic memories was just spot on. These ladies just got everything right. Thanks again Suzie.
