Meet Allison

How long have you been a funeral arranger?

I have been with Invocare for 4 years, I worked in travel for over 20 years but I have always wanted to work in the funeral industry, Covid gave me a chance to change careers and was definitely a great career move for me.

What do you like about being a funeral arranger?

I love helping families through their most difficult times. To hear a family say ‘you made everything so easy’ really makes me feel like I have achieved something.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare times?

I love to bake, it’s my relaxing time, I am a messy baker and hate cleaning up afterwards. I’m lucky enough to live near the beach so love to spend time there especially in winter when there’s no one around. I am also an avid reader and enjoying getting lost in a good book.

What’s one thing people don’t know about you?

I have 2 Jack Russels, Jock and Lucy and they keep me very busy!I love to travel and take any opportunity to get on a plane.My favourite place I have travelled to is Porto in Portugal, very special to me as I spent a milestone birthday there. I also dabble in mosaics and have made some pieces for family and friends.

What do you like about your local area?

I am lucky enough to live near the beach and have wetlands just behind me, it’s also a lovely close-knit community with lots of coffee shops and eateries. Plenty of things to do to keep busy.

What makes your brand special?

We have a fantastic, supportive team for both White lady and Le Pine, we have a beautiful light filled chapel and spacious refreshment room. We have been serving the Dandenong community for decades and have the knowledge to support your family.

What song would you play at your funeral and why?

Into My Arms by Nick Cave. Beautiful and emotional words.

What would you like to have included at your funeral and why?

I would love my dogs to be present and a large Union Jack on my coffin.
