What do you enjoy about your job?

I enjoy working alongside the beautiful team at White Lady Funerals Sutherland. It’s wonderful to learn from my colleagues that think outside the box when it comes to creating unique services that are relevant to family and friends.

How long have you been in the funeral industry?

I have been with White Lady Funerals for 19 years and location manager of the Sutherland funeral home for the past 17 years. In that time, I have had the honour of assisting and guiding hundreds of families in personalising their loved one's farewell.

What do you enjoy in your spare time?

What we provide in our role is intensive care for our client families at such an important and emotionally difficult time. Our ‘down time’ certainly enables us to appreciate our own connections to family and friends and my time with them is highly valued.

Are there any special community groups you work with or support?

White Lady Funerals Sutherland supports many community groups, including:

• Early Term Loss Memorial Services at Woronora Memorial Park. We officiate monthly memorial services for gestational losses where a funeral has not officially needed to be held. These families through Sutherland and St George Hospitals are invited to attend a Memorial Service in acknowledgment of their loss.
• Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Service – hosted annually to encourage awareness and create support within the community for families who have suffered a pregnancy or infant loss. This provides an opportunity to be together in shared experience for our local community.
• Candlelight Christmas Memorial Service – hosted annually for loved ones to be remembered at Christmas. Each family attending takes home a candle with their loved one’s name to light and remember at Christmas time.
• Bay Babes – White Lady Sutherland has supported Bay Babes in donations and attendance of fundraising events. Bay Babes is a local charity that provides awareness, fundraises, and provides practical assistance to breast cancer charities and support for families diagnosed.
• Community Education program – offering free community education to community groups, aged and nursing care covering topics such as Grief & Loss, Caring for the Caregiver and Role of the Funeral Director.
