From the first call to the final farewell, your loved one stays with our own people, in our own facilities.
With funeral homes across Australia, we’re proud to support families in local communities.
For nearly four decades, families have trusted White Lady to walk beside them. If you need us now, we are here.
How long have you been a funeral arranger?
I commenced as a Location Manager with InvoCare in September 2006. I have been arranging and conducting funerals ever since. I had been thinking about working in the funeral industry for some years, but after attending a couple of very poorly arranged funerals and thinking to myself “surely this could have been done better than this” decided the time was right to apply for a position.
What do you like about being a funeral arranger?
Arranging intricate detailed funerals gives me a lot of personal satisfaction, knowing that the family I’m looking after gets the best possible experience they can under such difficult and trying times.
I am passionate about supporting my local community and am involved in multiple organisations across the Gold Coast.
Working with our professional team of White Ladies and our incredible Operations staff allows me to create meaningful funerals with all the “White Lady” touches (the bells and whistles) - which are the hallmark of our brand.
Providing excellent customer service and encouraging our team to do the same, is very important to me.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare times?
I love to cook, and use this talent at work – when we hold PR events in our beautiful heritage building in Southport, I love to bake specialty products. My Chicken Liver Pate, Chocolate Brownies and Orange Almond Cake are always great favourites with our guests. I always ensure I provide a range of gluten free items so that everyone attending can enjoy our hospitality with confidence.
Outdoor activities revolve around caring for our gorgeous Dachshund Basset Cross dog Louis, and we are regulars at the local off leash dog park for “walkies”. We have a lovely garden in our old renovated Queensland cottage, and I can spend endless happy hours tending to our plants and fruit trees.
What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
I lived on the island of Guam for five years in the late 90’s when I was the Assistant Director of Finance with the Hyatt Hotel. In my spare time I became involved with the local community radio KPRG 89.3 and hosted my own weekly program “Midnight Meditations” where I played New Age music on Sunday nights from Midnight to 2am.
I have been fortunate to enjoy travel throughout Asia and the United States of America. I married my husband Alex at the beautiful San Francisco City Hall in December 2017. Thankfully he was prepared to relocate to Australia and we have built a very happy life here in Southport on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
What makes your brand special?
The brand awareness work that White Lady Funerals has done since it’s beginning are the shoulders that we now rise upon.
Everyone knows us by sight. Our visibility is incredibly real – I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been at the supermarket, in uniform after work, and someone has come up to me, and said “you looked after my mother, thank you so much” ….. and it might not have been me at all, but the recognition of the WLF image and the community perception of our level of care is palpable.
If people want “the best” they come to White Lady Funerals. I am grateful that as a national team we consistently live up to the image our years of branding has created in the minds of the community. We can be relied upon.
