Running with the man in red

Date:06/12/2011

The team from White Lady Funerals dons red for the Santa Fun RunWhite Lady Funerals, Penrith participated in a Charity Fun Run on December 4, 2011. This Fun Run was held to raise much needed funds for the Penrith Valley Fund which helps support the homeless and disadvantaged of the Nepean Region throughout the Christmas period.

The Run was a 1.8 KM course that started at Judges Park, Penrith and finished on High Street.

During the run the ladies swapped their usual elegant white uniforms for a Santa Suit which was supplied by the Penrith City Centre Association. Hundreds of Santa's of all ages participated, with jogging or walking available as options for those not prepared for a nearly two kilometre run."As funeral directors, we’ve seen firsthand the terrible impact that hardship and homelessness can have on individuals and families.

The Penrith Valley Fund is a cause that’s especially close to our hearts, and we were happy to look a little silly in our Santa suits if that’s what helps the charity continue its important work in our community"said Jocelyn Corcoran, Location Manager, White Lady Funerals Penrith.

Although we were one of the last teams to cross the finish line - with the help of the real Santa Claus of the festival, we enjoyed supporting our community.
